Reflection of a Melody Runner Gregory of Narek’s prayers willSharakan is sung during church holidays, with each celebration featuring its own distinct series of songs, from which the "sharakan" originates. These sharakans were inspired by similar Greek compositions from the 5th to the 15th centuries. In crafting this work, we drew upon excerpts from the Sharaknots preserved in the vaults of the Mekhitarist Congregation in Venice.
